Questions & answers

The things people ask.

  • What does ORON do exactly?

ORON co-invests in farmland together with farmers through a shared ownership structure. We make it possible to transition to regenerative agriculture, while farmers become co-owners and share in the long-term value of their land.

  • What does shared ownership mean?

The farmer is not just a user of the land, they are a co-owner. This means they actively build value in the land and share in that value over time.

  • How is ORON different from traditional farmland investments?

In traditional models, the farmer is often a tenant and value creation is disconnected from the person working the land. At ORON, the farmer becomes co-owner and financial incentives are aligned around long-term stewardship and soil health.

  • Why farmland?

Farmland is a scarce, tangible asset that underpins food production, environmental resilience, and long-term value creation.

  • Why farmer ownership?

We believe the people who farm the land should have a path toward ownership. Ownership creates stronger incentives for stewardship, long-term thinking, and resilience.

  • Why ORON?

ORON develops ownership structures that align farmers and long-term capital around the future of farmland. We believe long-term stewardship starts with aligned ownership.

  • How can I work with ORON?

Farmers looking to grow, expand, or acquire land can get in touch. ORON works together with you to explore how a partnership could be structured to fit your situation.

  • Do I remain independent as a farmer?

Yes. You stay responsible for the management of the land and retain full operational autonomy.

  • What does co-ownership mean in practice?

From the start, you are co-owner of the land and can grow your share over time. You share in the long-term value of the land as it develops.

  • What is concretely expected of me?

Nothing is strictly required. We simply reward regenerative practices with better terms. The only condition is that farmers engage with regenerative experts for guidance, which is often subsidised.

  • Can I grow my share in the land over time?

Yes. You can increase your ownership stake over time, at your own pace.
